Nine Set to line up in Fridays Downpatrick Hunters Chase

Nine horses have been declared for the Frank Fitzsimmons Memorial 2m 7f Hunters Chase on Friday evening.

Due off at 19:50, the €10,000 contest is headed by recent course and distance winner My Oaklahome, who was successful around this track in a similar contest just a fortnight ago for David O’Brien, the six-year-old is set to be ridden by Richie Deegan on this occasion.

The Willie Murphy – trained Crutches Lad was third in the same contest a two weeks ago and James Kenny retains the partnership on the dual point winner this season, who should give a good account of himself.

Hi Murphy has been a very consistent sort for the McParlan’s this season and if the son of Gamut reproduces his recent Cork Hunter Chase form he could have a chance here with Declan Lavery set to take the mount.

The Richard O’Keeffe – trained Vital Island ran a big race over the banks at Punchestown and could be interesting, while Pyrios comes into the contest in good form having won a maiden at Loughanmore last weekend.

Krisquin and Is This It are both consistent sorts in the point-to-point sphere, while Danjaman and Captain Commander complete the line-up.
