Weekend Preview | Tinahely 17th November

Race 1 - T. Swaine & Sons Ltd 4yo Maiden

ASKINVILLAR finished third on his debut in a competitive maiden at Loughanmore that produced the impressive Lisronagh winner Lifetime Ambition and that form would bring him into the reckoning here.

Dare To Begin was only beaten by two lengths at Portrush, In Disguise went well for a long way at Knockinroe, Es Perfecto has switched stables since finishing fourth at Ballindenisk on his debut whilst Brother Byrne could well bounce back from his disappointing run at Loughanmore having offered promise at both Oldtown and Tyrella before that.

Race 2 - Doran W. OToole & Company Solicitors 5&6yo Mares Maiden

JERMINNIE GREEN was left with the lead at the penultimate fence in Damma House before eventually having to settle for second spot, when a beaten favourite.
She could be the one to follow in this as she had the measure of the potentially re-opposing Lady Violet when that rival exited at the second last.

Not May lost her rider at the last in Dowth Hall having been running a big race at the time and is certainly a danger.

Race 3 - Mervyn Sunderland 5&6yo Geldings Maiden

MILANFORD and Nashville Nipper could both be set to make a quick re-appearance, with just three lengths having separated them when they finished behind Mr Mantilla at Knockmullen House last Sunday.

Whitechurch was well beaten at Knockinroe but would be a contender if running to his Portrush form, Toomebridge runner-up Tardree and The New Kid are other potential contenders.

Race 4 - Kavanagh Tarmac Ltd and C & C Building Providers Open

Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winner Black Hercules has not been seen since finishing third to Gold Cup winner Sizing John in 2017, and with that long absence since last seeing competitive action, it may be worth following a horse with a more recent run such as MY STORY.
He completed a hat-trick last Sunday at Knockmullen House and is certainly a horse on an upward curve.

Val De Verbet ran a fine race on his debut in open company when third behind subsequent winner Better B Quick around here last month, when he had the potentially re-opposing Anseanachai Cliste well behind.

Race 5 - Woodenbridge Hotel & Lodge & Mill House Veterinary 6yo Maiden (Nov Rdrs)

The returning FEAGREEN NATIVE was unable to make an impression over hurdles most recently, but his form from last autumn where he finished third at Moira in a five-year-old maiden, may leave him as the one to beat on his first start for Peter McCreery having previously been with James Lambe.

Rathbawn Rose has not been seen since having a foal, but was placed in five of her six outings between the flags, whilst Any Time is another mare that has previously made it into the placings.

Race 6 - Golden Anchor, Castletown Winner Of Two

Previous course winner HONEST EXCHANGE appeared to relish the test this hill offered when winning his maiden last month and can bounce back from a subsequent defeat at Kinsale.

Stable companion Carrig Hill is a two-time winner deserving of respect but would need to step-up from his Damma House return, whilst Presenting Europe has not been seen since dead-heating at Tattersalls Farm 11 months ago.

Of the others, The Bolder Boy gained an overdue success at Loughanmore, whilst Coach Road returns from an absence on what would be his first start for a new yard.
