Carrigtwohill older maiden boosted with bonus prize

A bonus prize of €1,000 will once again be up for grabs in the older maiden at the upcoming  Carrigtwohill and Pigeon Hill fixture in Ballyvodock.

The bonus prize proved to be a big hit when introduced last season, with no fewer than 15 runners contesting the race, which was ultimately won by Joe Daly’s eight-year-old Ebenezer Scrooge.

The Walk In The Park gelding got the better of Made U Look, and whilst that pair could again cross paths this Sunday in a winners’ contest at Cragmore, it will be a new cast of owners and runners going in search of the bonus prize.

That extra bonus pot brings the purse that the lucky winning owner will collect to a significant €2,400, and entries for the fixture will close on Tuesday at 12noon.

The fixture is sure to attract its usual big crowd, and those racegoers won’t miss any of the Dublin Racing Festival action with a big screen set to be on site showing all of the live racing from Leopardstown.
