Weekend Preview | Carrigarostig 19th January

Race 1 - Hurleys Supervalu, Midleton 5yo Mares Maiden

Well backed before the off, SHIROCCOS DREAM offered a lot of encouragement with her debut at Tattersalls Farm in December, as she chased home Rose Of Arcadia, a horse that subsequently fetched 170,000 pounds in the sales ring.

That form would leave her as the one to beat, with Cailin Dearg the likely danger having improved to finish at Ballindenisk earlier this month.

Race 2 - Tattersalls Ireland 5yo Geldings Maiden

SUNSET WEST was one of two horses that pulled a distance clear of their rivals at Boulta in November, and whilst he came up a length short against the most experienced French Light, that would look to be the standout piece of form coming into this and he would be hard to oppose if reproducing that.

The likely danger could come from Get Your Own, who although no match for the impressive Clondaw Bertie at Dromahane over Christmas, ran a respectable race on his debut nonetheless.

Race 3 - Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association Mares Winner Of Two

MT LEINSTER GOLD could return here for her seasonal re-appearance and she impressed when winning at Dawstown in May following on from what was an eye-catching introduction at Monksgrange before that to ensure she would look the one to beat.

Shuil Luas comprehensively dismissed the potentially reposing Moore Clouds at Ballindenisk and should thrive in the conditions, whilst Wouldubewell and Sofias Castle are recent maiden winners looking to step up.

Race 4 - Drury Tea & Coffee and GAIN Equine Nutrition 6yo+ Mares Maiden (Nov Rdrs)

Despite running in testing conditions last Sunday at Aghabullogue, BLUE MILAN may be the one to side with here, as she goes in search of what would be a deserving victory following two consecutive placed outings.

Rosy Story is solid type that will give her a strong challenge, whilst of the others, Scorpion Lady looks progressive and track recruit Boragh Beat catches the eye for what would be her debut for the Gordon Elliott yard.

Race 5 - Fogarty Bros Car Sales Killeagh Open

ARCTIC SKIPPER has an excellent strike rate in open company, and now that he returns from an eighth placing in the red-hot Down Royal Hunter Chase, he will look to win his fourth open race in succession.

Fennos Storm has proven costly for his followers to support of late, and has been a beaten favourite in each of his last three outings. He was only narrowly denied most recently when a slower final leap at the last in Ballindenisk proved costly. Wounded Warrior would have to enter the reckoning on his Kirkistown effort.

Race 6 - Kennedys Bar, Killeagh & Pegus Horse Feed 6yo+ Geldings Maiden

THE BONNY BOY bounced back to form when chasing home a proven track horse in On Call at Ballindenisk and that should leave him perfectly placed to go one better here.

Mickey Corbitt took a big step forward at Mainstown, which was encouraging, whilst if bouncing back to their very best Baron Du Plessis and Get Supreme have the potential to get involved.
