The Mouse Morris trained Sams Profile landed the Grade 2 John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park on Thyestes Day.

Philip Enright who partnered the son of Black Sam Bellamy mounted his challenge after the second last, the pair took up the running approaching the last where they edged right slightly.  The seven-year-old kept on gamely close home to see off the challenge of the Noel Meade trained Diol Ker.

The pair had to survive a lengthy Stewards Enquiry after getting a little close approaching the final hurdle.

The gelding who had being running over fences was last seen when finishing third behind Monkfish at Fairyhouse.  It was only discovered after this race that he had fractured a rib when taking a heavy fall at Thurles on his previous run.

Sams Profile started his career between the flags when winning his point-to-point maiden at Cragmore for Wexford handler Mick Goff when ironically beating todays runner-up Diol Ker.

The gelding was subsequently purchased by Mags O’Toole at the Cheltenham Festival Sale for £80,000.
