Progeny of Jet Away keep performing on the track and in the sales ring

The momentum around the success of Jet Away’s progeny continues to build with another successful week both in the sales ring and on the racecourse.

Jet Away foals sold up to €54,000 at the Goffs December NH Sale, while Jet Powered could not have been more impressive scoring a dominant eight length debut victory at Borris House on Sunday and is set to be sold in the Tattersalls Online NH & Point to Point Sale on Thursday.

Jet Powered, who was the first leg of a race-to-race double for trainer Cormac Farrell, took out the First Division of the 4YO geldings maiden over three miles in a substantially quicker time than the other divisions. The son of Jet Away was a €45,000 store purchase from the 2020 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale by his trainer from the consignment of Cudgley Stud.

Simon Cavanagh gave Jet Powered a patient ride, taking the lead before the second last he kept extending his lead to the line. He jumped well and he travelled like the winner throughout, earning a P2P.ie rating of 93 for the performance.

“He is a quality animal,” said Farrell. “We expected a performance like that today. He has impressed us throughout and he is a high-class horse for the future.”

Jet Powered is out of winning Presenting mare Cloghoge Lady who has also produced multiple Graded stakes winner Westerner Lady and four-time winner Sapphire Lady, who was purchased by Douglas Taylor at the Goffs December NH Sale for €50,000 last week. This is also the family of Leopardstown Chase (LR) winner On The Other Hand.

Farrell’s second winner of the day came in the next race with Dancing City.

The demand for Jet Away’s progeny in the sales ring continued at Goffs last week with his foals making up to €54,000 – 18 times 2020 covering fee - with five lots selling for €20,000 or more.

The most expensive of his foals was a colt out of Demon Daisy who was bought by Bobby O’Ryan for €54,000, while Knockbrack Bloodstock paid €34,000 for the colt out of Terried Typist. The top-priced filly by the sire was out of Gypsy Joe who was also bought by Bobby O’Ryan for €25,000.

The 14 lots by Jet Away that sold at the Goffs November NH Sale averaged 5.6 times covering fee.

Jet Away is standing for a fee – on application – in 2022 and will be joined at Arctic Tack Stud by Dee Ex Bee who is standing his first season at stud at a fee of €3,500 (fillies concession).
