Twenty-five years of racing at Bellharbour will be celebrated on Sunday, for what is the second of three fixtures this season for the Co. Clare Hunt.
It will be an action-packed day on and off the track for racegoers with a whole host of attractions lined up to entertain the whole family.
The dog show, sponsored by Gillanes Feeds, is always a real family favourite, and there will be winners in seven categories including the main champion of the show prize.
Alongside that will be face painting, pony rides, a hobby horse jumping course, a horseshoe demonstration, a display of the County Clare Hunt foxhounds, and carnival rides.
That is not all, as the Liam McCarthy Cup will also be making an appearance together with members of last year’s All-Ireland-winning Clare senior hurling team.

On the track, the six-race card has attracted a total of 100 entries, and there will be great anticipation ahead of the Costello Family four-year-old maiden, which is one of the first four-year-old maiden races run in 2025.
Derek O’Connor, John Staunton, Rob James and Colin Bowe are the handlers responsible for each of the last four winners of the race, and that quartet are all represented among the entries for Sunday’s opener.
The Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale and JJ Civil five-year-old geldings’ maiden has attracted the biggest entry on the card with 34 horses, whilst the Monks Ballyvaughan open has the makings of being a real highlight.
Last year’s first and second, Lifetime Ambition and La Feline, both feature among the entries, as does the reigning champion point-to-pointer Winged Leader.
His long winning run may have come to an end at Turtulla recently, but David Christie’s will bid to regain the winning grove with that would be his seventh victory of the season. He could come up against Ryehill, another previous winner at the venue, and the former Troytown winner Run Wild Fred.
The first race goes to post at 1pm, and don’t forget that children go free.
