British-jockey Joanna Walton, whose mother Diana is a point-to-point trainer, honed her race-riding skills on the pony racing circuit and recorded her first point-to-point winner at the age of just 16. Damian Murphy provided Walton with her point-to-point debut on this side of the Irish Sea at Dromahane in December 2016 aboard Glenwood Star, and it was that horse that provided her with her first Irish point success at Tralee in May 2017.
