Niamh Hennessy had her first ride in a point-to-point at Ballindenisk in May 2021 aboard the Eoin McDonagh trained Makeshift who finished third in the winners of two contest, having already opened her account on the track when Willie McCreery's Elm Grove won a Ladies Handicap at Tipperary in 2016. It was the 15-year-old Fr Humphrey that supplied her with a first success in the pointing sphere, not just as a rider but also as a handler, when he won an open at Dromahane in April 2023.
