From a family steeped in equestrian pursuits, Ivan Ryan's mother represented Ireland in Eventing at the Olympics, whilst his brother James is a flat jockey. Ivan had made his point-to-point debut at Tyrella in Jaunary 2022 aboard Getaway Molly for handler Patrick Rooney. The Dublin native registered his first career win aboard Lillys Girls at Tattersalls in December 2022 for Dermot McLoughlin.
