Cathal made his point-to-point debut in December 2022 at Ballindenisk aboard the Paul Power-trained Stayinalive. A Commerce graduate from University of Galway, Cathal led up the 2021 Gold Cup winner Minella Indo during his five years working for Henry de Bromhead, whilst he secured a first success of his own aboard the Conor Ryan-trained Kilmore Coral at Stradbally in April 2025.
