Son of former Group 1 and Ascot-winning trainer Mick Halford and younger brother of fellow amateur rider Josh, Tommy made his point-to-point debut aboard Spotthedifference for his father at Tattersalls in April 2024. He recorded his first racecourse success at Down Royal in May 2025 when landing the hunter chase aboard the Cormac Farrell-trained Kings Jet, and in March 2026 partnered his first point-to-point winner when guiding the John Neilan-trained Grandorado to victory at Ballycahane.
