The youngest son of Cheltenham winning trainer Paul Gilligan, Ollie has followed the footsteps of his three older brothers Liam, Jack and Danny who have all progressed through the pony racing ranks and now hold jockey licenses. Ollie's father Paul provided him with a first ride in a bumper at Ballinrobe in July 2024. Ollie made his points debut at Borris House in December 2024 aboard Born By The Sea who is handled by his brother Liam.
