William Verling made his points debut at Tallow aboard Pure Decent, a horse owned by his mother Catherine, in February 2025. Despite falling on his initial outing, that horse, who is trained by his uncle Pat, the former Galway Hurdle-winning trainer/jockey, supplied him with his first success a fortnight later at Knockanard on only his second ever ride. William added two further successes to his CV in that debut season.
