Diamond Boy's Progeny Scores Again

Kilbarry Lodge stud’s resident stallion Diamond Boy sired another winner in his native France on Sunday when Cat Tiger won on her fourth start at Moor Britain.

The three-year-old had previously finished second over hurdles at Cholet in September and followed this run up with a five length win in the 2m2f chase.

Diamond Boy has had two point-to-point runners to date, one of which was a winner when the Gigginstown House stud-owned Valdieu won the four-year-old maiden at The Pigeons in March.

Other performers on the track by Diamond Boy include Le Precieux, Don’t Hesitate and the Grade 3 placed Viola St Goustan.

His stock has been bought by names such as Liss House and Lakefield Farm, Mount Eaton, Monamore stables and Bobby O’Ryan. At the Doncaster May sale this year Mouse Morris bought a three-year-old gelding by the up-and-coming sire for £100,000.

A son of Mansonnien, Diamond Boy won five races for Francois Doumen and was placed on a further four starts ranging from a mile and four to a mile and seven.

Diamond Boy retired to stud in France in 2012.

He currently stands at:
Kilbarry Lodge Stud,
Co Waterford
