County Down native Noel McParlan first rode a winner between the flags at Necarne in May 2002 aboard Silverbridge, and since then he has been one of the leading riders in the northern region, winning that regional title on three occasions - 2013, 2015 and 2017. McParlan, whose father Sean is a successful handler, recorded his first winner at the Cheltenham Festival in the 2018 edition of the Fulke Walwayn Kim Muir Chase aboard the Warren Greatrex-trained Missed Approach. The victory of Faith Loving at Loughanmore in April 22 supplied Noel with his 200th point-to-point victory.
